163 AN AUDIT OF STAFF NAME BADGE VISIBILITY ON A STROKE UNIT IN A LARGE TEACHING HOSPITAL IN IRELAND

Abstract Background The National Patient Experience Survey highlighted the importance of name badge wearing in hospitals, with patients noting that badges made it easier to remember staff and refer them by name. Methods An observational carried out March 2022 over one morning. Staff were not notified advance audit. Inclusion criteria: Name placed uniform visible place with/without photo. Results 24 people across 11 different professions identified ward. Seven members (29.16%) which 5 included photos therefore set met. Conclusion There overall poor Compliance varied amongst Speech Language therapists, Occupational Therapists nursing having higher compared other professions. Most had form cards lanyards, but did wear clearly legible badges. Education around distribution all is planned prior re-audit phase.
